The original bodycon dresses. Perfect for curvy girls. They are sexy, refined, elegant & very flattering.

And here I thought most other women did too. After all, bodycon is flattering for all body types, it enhances curves, makes you feel feminine, some even compress your body to hold everything in place & make you feel firmer & more confident.. Turns out though, some women don't like it at all!

*shocked face*

Who knew?! I came across a blog post from a really well known fashion blogger, who was wearing a gorgeous monochrome print bodycon dress & then proceeded to explain that she doesn't usually approve of body con, because celebrities over-do the bandage dresses, it's too "check out my hot body!" for her, and she finds them tacky!!!!

*Sigh.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but here I am, feeling quite defensive about bodycon. Lol, not only because my brand sells gorgeous body con skirts but because I've always loved fitted clothing. I think people are very mistaken about the fact that only gym freaks or plastic girls can rock bodycon. I understand that if you feel bloated maybe because you over indulged the night before or maybe it's 'that time of the month', or maybe you haven't been to the gym in a month.. I get that you'd choose to wear something loose - But most the time it's in your head. Fitted clothes are more flattering, no matter if you're a size 6 or 14. Just because you feel you are hiding your body in loose clothes does not mean you look better - most the times you'll actually look bigger - a bit like a bag with no shape.

Whether you're young or old, famous or not, thin or curvy - DO NOT HIDE UNDER LOOSE, UNFITTED CLOTHES!!!
If your bottoms are loose, wear a fitted or crop top. If your top is loose, wear a bodycon skirt!!! Don't be a bag lady!

We all have different shapes and sizes. Society and magazines make us believe that there is a 'perfect' shape, but don't let yourself get influenced by this. As a photographer & retoucher I can tell you that all those photos are retouched (and celebrities get all sorts of help to look good in real time). Photoshop lets you alter shape, definition & anything else you can think of. We all look different & should embrace this. So take a hard look in the mirror, throw your judgements away and think about your shape and how you could enhance it. True style is all about taking fashion and making it look good on YOU. 

There are 100 ways to style bodycon skirts!! Printed bodycon dresses require minimal accessorising. Go for a casual look with oversized sweaters, a sexy look with crop tops and a slick fashionista look with a synched waist belt.
Do not do anything like the girl on the right - the skirt is either too long or not the right fit, gladiator sandals & hair are awful for the outfit, prints do not go at all - It is a hot hot mess.

The great thing about body con is that you don't necessarily have to wear a dress. Even though that's what most people think about when they hear the word 'bodycon', there are bodycon skirts, & even though they wouldn't really be called it, fitted tops and leggings are also technically bodycon. So do you have a bit of a tummy? Rock a bodycon skirt with a semi-loose shirt with a few open buttons - Take the attention away from your tummy and enhance your butt and show a little bit of cleavage to balance out your shape. Got large breasts, small waist and wide hips? You have to wear fitted tops!!! If you wear loose tops, because of your large breasts, you will look 'big' even if you're not. Show off your tiny waist! If you're petite, small breasts & quite straight up and down, then loose tops will look great on you, but make sure you rock bodycon mini skirts (like ours :D)!! They will look amazing on you - they'll lengthen your legs & show them off! & If you're a curvy girl - breasts & butt - then you belong in a bodycon dress. Let it mold your body & enhance your curves! 

Super Short mini length look fab on Petite girls!!! Show off your legs & lengthen them at the same time!! Always avoid the length between your knee & ankles, it is awful for any shape.

Bodycon is supposed to be a very refined look. Keep it classy by knowing how to balance out your figure with your outfits. Use peplum to or loose shirts to hide tummies but don't be afraid to let the bodycon hug your curves.

You really have to learn how to dress for YOUR shape, but note that bodycon is always flattering in some form or another. Don't be afraid of it. And whenever you're feeling a little insecure remember as human we're all self centered - When you think everyone is looking at you, they're probably worrying about you looking at whatever insecurity they're dealing with.

So breathe, live & enjoy fashion for what it is - a great & fun way to express yourself.

Note - When wearing bodycon, never wear underwear that digs into your sides, that's quite unsightly. Choose seamless. 

Also try things on and wear what FITS - I dont care what size the label says. Bodycon has to be a perfect fit - don't squish yourself in a size too small (hello love handles!) and don't wear a size too big, it really isn't flattering. That is all! ;)
